That's really good to hear about the Wii U version. At the same time...yikes, whats going on with that PS4 version sales figure? Considering the fact that Sony did so much favorable marketing for DI on Sony systems (even got an exclusive Collector's edition), it's surprising its not selling better on the PS4.

It doesn't surprise me. The install base of the next gen systems is pretty low, I imagine it's even lower in households with younger kids.

Even if I had a next gen I'd probably just buy it on the legacy console and that way the kid can just use that exclusively and leave the new shiny one alone.

It didn't do well in the UK, here are the chart positions over here:

5 - 360

10 - PS3

13 - PS4

17 - XBO

20 - Wii U

Although it should be noted that Hyrule Warriors was 4th.

Never played one of these games before. Can someone run over the basics for me? How do the characters interact? Can you pick any figure and play any level? Are the larger packs essentially DLC? (Spiderman and GotG) What are power discs or whatever the card things? Is there coop?

The game itself seems like it could be fun, but it also looks like a money pit.

That's why I personally haven't bought it. It looks like a blast, but I don't want to play it if it's going to cost me $150 or whatever!

The characters save their level on the NFC chip once you "take ownership" of the figure. In 1.0 you can only do coop in a playset with characters from the same playset. For example you can't play as Buzz or Woody in The Incredibles playset and you can't play as Mater in the Monster's University playset. Anything goes in the Toybox however and you can mix and match whatever you want in toyboxes that either you can create or download from the internet.

With 2.0 there are some characters that can be played in other playsets and they've added skill trees to even the 1.0 characters once you've imported them into 2.0. They've also vastly increased the scale of the playset and toybox size and capabilities.

The card things (power packs) are random packs that either contain power ups that are placed under your character or tiles that affect the entire toybox or playset.

These collecting games generally are. We just picked this up last night and got a free figurine for preordering. The nice thing is, granny and aunt/uncle will be able to buy the additional playsets as christmas or birthday gifts if they so choose. Or he can spend his allowance on them too.

I preordered it on Amazon for the Wii U and should be getting it today!

I preordered the Starter Pack, got one figurine for free and bought another one. Since I live in Uruguay, probably won't enjoy any of this until the second week of October :( http://i.imgur.com/8d9bAkq.png

I was at a printer today and that they were printing and making the boxes for Disney Infinity 2.0, for all consoles. Just the printed cardboard outer sleeve. Was pretty cool to see, they also have special edition boxes of other games

level 1

Not sure why since it is the technically worst version.
